Chicago police have formally charged 18-year-old Eliel Argudo-Tenorio of Oak Park in connection with the fatal shooting of a 27-year-old man in Grant Park.
Authorities apprehended Argudo-Tenorio on June 16, 2026, at approximately 6:36 p.m. in the 900 block of South Humphrey Avenue.
Investigators identified him as the person responsible for the shooting that occurred in the 300 block of East Jackson Drive.
The suspect faces one felony count of first-degree murder.
A detention hearing is scheduled for today, June 19, 2026, at the courthouse located at 2600 South California Avenue.
Police report that the suspect was taken into custody roughly 18 hours after the fatal incident occurred.

A 27-year-old man was killed in a shooting while riding his bicycle in Grant Park early Tuesday morning.
The incident occurred at approximately 12:15 a.m. in the 300 block of East Jackson Drive, according to Chicago police.
The victim was traveling on the sidewalk when he suddenly heard gunfire and felt pain.
He sustained a gunshot wound to his upper leg during the attack.
Emergency responders transported the man to Northwestern Memorial Hospital for urgent medical treatment.
