Recent History
Calumet Heights has seen a concerning trend of vehicle-related violence in recent months.
The 8800-block of South Paxton is a residential area that usually remains quiet in the evening.
However, South Side residents have expressed growing fears regarding “drive-by” style attacks.
Last month, a similar shooting occurred only a few blocks away, involving a person in a parked car.
Community leaders continue to call for increased patrols in the 4th District to deter late-night gunfire.
This latest homicide adds to the mounting pressure on local authorities to address South Side safety.
Area Two detectives are asking anyone with information to come forward.
Witnesses can submit anonymous tips to the CPD online portal.
The investigation into the identity of the shooter remains active.
