A 29-year-old woman is fighting for her life after being pulled from Lake Michigan on Sunday afternoon.
The rescue took place around 3:20 p.m. near the 3100 block of North Lake Shore Drive, close to Belmont Harbor in the Lakeview neighborhood.
According to the Chicago Fire Department (CFD), witnesses reported a woman in distress in the water.
CFD diving crews arrived quickly and pulled the woman from the lake.
Paramedics rushed her to a nearby hospital, where she remains in critical condition.
Officials have not yet released the woman’s identity or details on how she ended up in the water.
The investigation is ongoing.
