He faces two counts of first-degree murder for the deaths of Phyllis Goolsby and Tuanna Thomas.

Investigators confirmed they recovered a weapon at the Peoria Street property.
Recent History
The Washington Heights neighborhood has seen a troubling rise in domestic-related violence over the past year.
Community members on the 10400-block of South Peoria Street describe the area as a typically quiet residential pocket.
However, this double homicide marks a grim milestone for the South Side district this month.
Nearby neighborhoods, including Roseland and Morgan Park, have also reported an uptick in shootings involving senior citizens.
Last year, a similar incident occurred just blocks away, highlighting the need for increased mental health and domestic intervention resources.
The Chicago Police Department has increased patrols in the area to reassure residents following the weekend’s violence.
Local activists are calling for more support systems to prevent such tragedies from occurring within the home.
