On Monday, Quan’s father and manager, Corey Lamar, called into Yung Joc’s Streetz Morning Takeover radio show, sharing that he initially planned a small private service to help his family begin the healing process. However, he later decided to make Quan’s funeral public to honor the rapper’s life and his bond with fans.

“Without the fans, there would be no Quan,” Lamar expressed.

While no specific details about the service were provided, the family told People that information about the public celebration of Quan’s life would be shared as soon as possible.

In a statement, the family said, “Although his passing leaves an undeniable void in our hearts, we find comfort in knowing his music and resilient spirit live on. Quan’s legacy will always remain a part of our lives’ soundtrack, and for that, we are grateful.”

The rapper, whose real name was Dequantes Devontay Lamar, passed away at his home on Thursday at the age of 33.
