Oak Forest police have identified a man killed in a shooting near a suburban gas station on Saturday afternoon.
The victim was 30-year-old Latrell Williams of Alsip, according to a report by ABC7 Chicago.
The shooting occurred at approximately 4:47 p.m. at the intersection of 167th Street and Cicero Avenue.
Williams was reportedly stopped in the median lane of the intersection when the attack began.
Police say another vehicle pulled up directly next to him in the left-turn lane.
An unidentified individual inside that vehicle then started shooting.
Williams was struck multiple times by the gunfire.
Emergency responders rushed Williams to Advocate Christ Medical Center.
Doctors later pronounced him dead at the hospital.
The suspect vehicle fled the scene immediately after the shots were fired.
Witnesses told police the car headed eastbound on 167th Street toward Interstate 57.
Oak Forest investigators have not yet released a description of the suspect or the vehicle involved.

South suburban police departments have been increasing patrols near major gas stations and transit hubs to combat this trend of daylight violence.
The Oak Forest Police Department is currently asking anyone with information or dashcam footage to come forward.
