Anticipating a large turnout based on advance intelligence, the Naperville Police Department deployed multiple specialized teams of officers throughout the business district ahead of time.
Commanders positioned units at key intersections to deter criminal activity and maintain public safety.
Officers encountered escalating compliance issues as the crowd grew larger into the dinner hour.
The police response resulted in the arrest of five juveniles from several different neighboring communities.

Naperville Police Chief Jason Arres released a firm public statement detailing the department’s updated operational stance regarding large-scale public disruptions.
Arres emphasized that while the city welcomes visitors to patronize local businesses and enjoy local amenities, lawbreaking will trigger immediate consequences.
The police chief explicitly stated that the department will no longer offer warnings or second chances to individuals who disrupt the peace.
According to Arres, previous attempts at a lenient approach were met with disrespect and lawlessness from crowd participants.
