Manchester United players were booed off the pitch following an embarrassing 1-0 loss in Malaysia against ASEAN All-Stars on Friday in a post-season friendly match.
The Red Devils flew to Malaysia after their last Premier League game of the season against Aston Villa on Sunday to take part in the encounter.
Maung Maung Lwin’s second-half strike handed Manchester United another defeat to the disappointment of their fans.
The ASEAN All-Stars was made up of internationals from Southeast Asia, and players from other local leagues.
Manchester United fans in the stadium booed off the players after the final whistle.
Amorim admitted that he feels guilty about the loss and backed the fans for booing the team following another disappointing result.
He said: “I feel always guilty, I said that in the last game. I’m always guilty of the performance of the team. No matter what. Since I’m here for the first day, I am guilty.
“Then the boos from the fans is something that we need maybe because every game we lost in the Premier League, they were always there. So it’s like if the way of playing they see is not working, they will change the way they behave.
“But I felt then like we finished, walked away and, every time, the supporters were with us. Again, let’s wait for the next season.”
The likes of André Onana, Harry Maguire, Manuel Ugarte and Rasmus Højlund were among the players picked in his starting XI while Bruno Fernandes, Alejandro Garnacho, and Amad Diallo were introduced at half-time.
Manchester United endured a poor Premier League campaign with a 15th place finish at the end of the season.
