“We Are Sorry” – Amorim Tenders Apologies To Manchester United Fans

Manchester United coach Ruben Amorim has tendered a public apology to the club’s supporters after enduring a disastrous season in the Premier League.

Amorim took over after Erik Ten Hag was sacked in October has overseen the club’s worst ever season in the top flight.

The Red Devils recorded a 15th place finish in their lowest league position since relegation to the second division in the 1973-74 season.

The team also lost 1-0 to Tottenham in the Europa League final on Wednesday in Spain.

Amorim apologised to the fans while appreciating them for their support after the 2-0 win over Aston Villa on Sunday.

He said: “First of all, I want to apologise for this season,” Amorim said in a speech at the end of the Villa game. “I know you are really disappointed in me and in the team.

“I want to say thank you, we are very grateful for your support during the season and I know it was really hard to support us in many games.

“But now we have to make a choice or we stay stuck in the past because this season is in the past — it’s over. We fight each other or we stick together and move forward.”

Amorim revealed that the club is ready to focus on the future ahesd of a busy summer at Old Trafford.

He said: “Six months ago, in my first three games in charge, with two victories and one draw, I said to you, “the storm is coming.

“Today after this disastrous season, I want to tell you the good days are coming.

“If there is one club in the world that proves in the past that can overcome any situation, any disaster, it is our club, Manchester United Football Club.

“Now I want to say sorry also to my players. Sometimes I was not fair, but I always try to be honest with you guys. Thank you very much, see you next season.”

Manchester United have won just 17 of the 42 matches they have played under the Ruben Amorim.

The Red Devils have now lost six of their last 10 matches across all competitions, including their lame defeat to Tottenham in the Europa League final.

They also missed out on European competition for the first time since 1990.
