Cicero police have identified the man stabbed to death Saturday evening as 73-year-old Ubano Diaz.
At approximately 10:30 p.m., officers responded to the 3200-block of South 54th Court where they found Diaz with a stab wound. He was rushed to Mt. Sinai Hospital, but he later died from his injuries.
A person of interest was spotted driving away from Cicero shortly after the incident. A brief police chase followed, moving from I-55 to I-94 with assistance from Illinois State Police.
The pursuit ended at Vincennes and 119th Street in Chicago, where the person of interest was detained. No crashes or additional injuries were reported during the chase.
