Chicago detectives are asking for the public’s help to identify a man wanted in connection with a 2023 homicide.
The incident took place in the Near South Side neighborhood within the city’s 1st District.
According to police records, the shooting occurred on May 22, 2023, at approximately 1:05 a.m.
Officers responded to the 2200 block of South State Street where the fatal incident was documented.
Area Three Detectives have released images of a person of interest they are looking to identify.
The suspect is described as a Black male between the ages of 20 and 30.
During the incident, he was seen wearing a beige t-shirt, white pants, and a baseball cap.
He was also wearing distinctive white and black shoes.
Authorities urge anyone who recognizes the man or has information about the case to contact the police immediately.
If you encounter the individual, officials warn that you should never pursue a fleeing assailant yourself.
Instead, witnesses are encouraged to remain calm and gather contact information from others at the scene.
