A 15-year-old boy is recovering after a gunman shot him outside a McDonald’s restaurant in the Bronzeville neighborhood on Saturday evening.
ABC7 Chicago reported that the incident occurred just after 7 p.m. near the intersection of 47th Street and Cottage Grove Avenue on the city’s South Side.
Chicago police investigators stated that the teenage victim became involved in a verbal altercation with another male suspect on the sidewalk.
The argument quickly escalated when the unidentified male pulled out a handgun and opened fire on the teenager.

Emergency medical personnel rushed the youth to a local hospital where doctors listed him in fair condition.
Responding officers cordoned off the area outside the commercial establishment to search for bullet casings and interview witnesses.
Area detectives have not yet taken anyone into custody, and the shooter remains at large.
Authorities urge anyone with information regarding the dispute or the identity of the gunman to submit an anonymous tip to the Chicago Police Department.
