Chicago police have charged two men with the first-degree murder of a 67-year-old contractor.
The suspects were identified as 28-year-old Nassie Mason and 31-year-old Erving Harris.
Both men face one felony count of First Degree Murder, according to police records.

They also face felony charges for being felons in possession of a weapon.
Members of the Chicago Police Department arrested the pair on March 24.
The arrest occurred at 12:50 p.m. in the 2100 block of West Madison Street.

Officers apprehended the men just minutes after the fatal shooting took place.
The 67-year-old victim was shot and killed in the same block within the 12th District.
Police quickly placed both offenders into custody following the attack.
The victim’s family previously identified him as successful contractor Jerry Lewis.
Authorities stated the suspects were identified as the offenders who opened fire.
A detention hearing for Mason and Harris is scheduled at 2600 South California.
The hearing is set to take place on March 27, 2026.
Records show that both Mason and Harris have previous felony records involving weapons.
Police have not released further details regarding the motive for the shooting.
The investigation into the circumstances of the murder is ongoing.
