Chicago police have charged a 20-year-old man in connection with a string of armed robberies and burglaries across the city.
Brian Pride, of the 200 block of South Central Park Boulevard, faces five felony counts for crimes committed earlier this month.
The Citywide Robbery Task Force arrested Pride on January 17 near his home on the West Side.
Investigators identified Pride as a suspect in a fast-paced crime spree that took place on the morning of January 3.
The first incident occurred at 4:58 a.m. in the 2300 block of West Chicago Avenue, where a 35-year-old woman was robbed at gunpoint.
Less than an hour later, the offenders moved to the 3000 block of North Ashland Avenue in the 19th District.
At 5:46 a.m., Pride allegedly robbed two men, ages 40 and 52, at gunpoint inside a local business.
Minutes later, at 5:52 a.m., the group broke into another business in the 2600 block of North Lincoln Avenue to steal property.
The spree ended at 6:02 a.m. with a final burglary in the 3100 block of North Broadway.
Pride is now charged with three felony counts of armed robbery and two felony counts of burglary.
He is scheduled for a detention hearing today, January 18, at the courthouse located at 2600 South California Avenue.
Police have not released information regarding other suspects involved in these incidents.
