A late-night shooting in Gage Park left one man dead and two others fighting for their lives Thursday night.
The violence broke out around 10:32 p.m. in the 5800 block of South Western Avenue.
Three men were sitting inside a parked vehicle when a gunman approached them on foot.
The suspect opened fire on the group before running away from the scene.
A 19-year-old man suffered multiple gunshot wounds during the attack.
Emergency responders rushed him to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
A 22-year-old man was shot in the stomach and back.
He is currently in serious condition at the University of Chicago Medical Center.
A 41-year-old man was also hit in the lower torso.
Paramedics took him to Advocate Christ Hospital, where he remains in serious condition.
No suspects are in custody at this time.
Area One detectives are currently investigating the motive behind the shooting.
