Two teenagers were fatally shot and a 21-year-old man was wounded during a tragic incident Wednesday morning in the Auburn Gresham neighborhood on Chicago’s South Side.
The deceased teens have been identified as 16-year-old Devajae ‘Lil Spazz’ Christopher and 17-year-old Tamarion ‘Stewie’ West.
The shooting occurred just before 8 a.m. in an apartment building in the 8100 block of South Marshfield Avenue. Police confirmed that three people were shot inside the building.
- One 16-year-old victim was found outside on a porch.
- The second teenager, 17, was found inside a stairwell.
Both Devajae Christopher and Tamarion West suffered multiple gunshot wounds to their heads and necks, according to law enforcement sources.
A third victim, a 21-year-old man, was shot in the right arm. He was transported to Advocate Christ Medical Center in good condition.
Police have not released any details regarding the circumstances that led up to the shooting.
The incident left family members devastated and neighbors describing the area as being plagued by violence. Authorities are currently investigating the circumstances of the deadly shooting.
