Who is Marni Washington? FEMA Supervisor Removed After Directive to Avoid Trump Supporters’ Homes
In a recent controversy, FEMA supervisor Marni Washington has been relieved of her duties after allegedly instructing disaster relief teams in Highlands County, Florida, to avoid assisting homes displaying support for Trump.
An internal memo reportedly advised officials to “avoid homes advertising Trump,” resulting in at least 20 skipped properties, according to The Daily Wire.
Disaster relief workers expressed frustration, with one stating, “I volunteered to help disaster victims, not discriminate against them.”
Photos shared in the report showed homes flagged as “no entry per leadership” due to Trump signs.
FEMA responded, condemning the actions, calling them “deeply disturbing,” and stating that Washington had no authority to issue such guidance.
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis also weighed in, vowing to investigate any federal discrimination against Floridians based on political beliefs.
