Who is Malakai Bayoh? 

  There are so many hidden talents around the globe and there are always a lot of waves stirred when these talents come to the limelight. This talent can be in different aspects of life such as singing, dancing and fine control of instruments amongst many others. In this article we’ll be looking at Malakai Bayoh and how he made a name for himself with his talent. 

The Young Star

   Malakai Bayoh is a 13-year-old boy who took part in the Britain Got Talent 2023. His high-level talent for singing brought him from the start of the event to the finals at the same time his popularity also rose along with his ranking. As a fan favourite, Malakai Bayoh went through various levels of the Britain Got Talent and eventually made his way to the finals. Sadly, he lost the win by a small margin to 34-year-old Norwegian comedian Vigo Venn. 

Early Life

   Malakai Bayoh was born in 2010 in Gravesend, Kent, in the South-Eastern Region of England. His parents immigrated from a country in Africa probably in search of better opportunities. Malakai Bayoh’s family can be said to be among the middle class of society. There are no details on if he has any siblings. His parents have tried to provide a sound education for him, successfully helping him to complete his primary education. Right now, he’s undergoing his secondary school education. 

Career

   Malakai Bayoh started singing at a very young age. His mother had forced him to join the choir stalls of London’s Saint John Cathedral Southwark as a chorister which eventually led to the fame and success he has gathered today. He has said that he would like to be a professional opera singer.

He sang the role of Oberto in Handel’s Opera Alcina at the Royal Opera House in November of 2022. Recognizing his talent, famous radio station Classic FM invited him to partake in two duets with former treble star Aled Jones.

Aled Jones was a marvellous treble singer years ago, however, as the years passed he developed into an amazing tenor singer. The duets performed were ‘Walking in the Air’ and ‘O Holy Night’ which both raised a huge sensation as well as reactions from social media. Gaining over 20 million views and lots of comments from social media during the Christmas period of 2022. Malakai Bayoh made his solo debut at the Royal Albert Hall in 2023 where he performed the ‘Alleluia’ opera from Mozart’s Exsultate Jubilate.

Other songs performed by Malakai Bayoh include Lascia ch’io pianga, Amazing Grace, Somewhere, Benedictus and many others. Most of these songs were composed by famous music composers such as Mozart. 

Britain Got Talent 

   In 2023 he went to apply for the 16th series of the Britain Got Talent show. During his auditions, the young treble singer sang ‘Pie Jesu’ by Andrew Lloyd Webber. Malakai Bayoh sang the piece so marvellously that talent show judge Simon Cowell was greatly moved. This led him to press the golden buzzer for the opera singer. The sound of the golden buzzer indicated Malakai Bayoh’s smooth sailing to the semi-finals of the talent show.

Along with the golden buzzer came compliments from the judges and hails from the audience. In the semi-finals, Malakai Bayoh amazed the judges and the crowd once again when he sang one of Puccini’s favourite songs ‘O mio babbino caro’ from the opera Gianni Schicchi. This piece led some of the judges to tears and won large amounts of votes from the crowd leading him to secure his spot in the finals.

At the finals, Malakai Bayoh performed the opera song ‘Caruso’ which showcased his amazing voice control for high notes. Sadly, the piece was not enough to help him clinch the title of winner of the Britain Got Talent 2023 even though he had spurred a very large reaction from the crowd. However, even though he didn’t grab the title of winner, the fact that he made it to the finals of the talent show has caused his popularity to receive a huge boost. 

Education and Net Worth 

   Malakai Bayoh is currently studying at the Cardinal Vaughan Memorial School. He still practices his singing there under the training of Scott Price. Although just 13 years old, young opera singer Malakai Bayoh has an estimated net worth of $500,000. His wealth was obtained from his participation in the Britain Got Talent along with the numerous operas he has performed at famous locations. 

Height, Weight, and Relationship Status

   As a young boy of 13 years old and a famous England Got Talent participant stands at 5 ‘3 and weighs about 47 kg. However, these numbers are due to change as he keeps on growing. There has been no info on whether opera singer Malaika Bayoh is involved in any relationships. Maybe in years to come, news on his relationship status will be updated. 

Social Media Presence

   Malakai Bayoh has over 500 thousand followers on Instagram and has garnered a lot of reactions on other social media platforms. Some people have commented that it would be lovely for the 13-year-old opera singer to perform at King Charles’ next event which is the Royal Variety Performance. This could very well lead to a meeting between the youngster and the King and Queen of the United Kingdom.
