Additionally, The ISS requires regular maintenance, including expensive repairs to ensure its functionality and safety in orbit.Therefore, it continuously requires lots of money for repairs.

Hubble Space Telescope – $16 Billion

The Hubble Space Telescope stands as one of humanity’s biggest achievements. It is also one of the most expensive things in the world, in terms of financial investment and scientific significance. Its construction and deployment required billions of dollars. It involved the use of modern technology, precision engineering, and rigorous testing to ensure its functionality in the harsh environment of space.

Powered by solar energy, the Hubble features expansive 25-foot solar panels to generate power for its operations.

Notably, it has played a crucial role in discovering previously unknown moons around Pluto, expanding our understanding of our solar system.

Yacht History Supreme – $4.8 billion

The Yacht History Supreme was built by a UK designer named Stuart Hughes and took about three years to construct. 

The luxurious boat was built using some of the world’s priciest materials, including gold and platinum structural fittings and even real meteorite. 

While the specific price tag remains undisclosed due to the privacy of the buyer, reports indicate that the yacht was sold for an estimated $4.8 billion, making it one of the most expensive yachts ever sold. 

Crown Jewels – $4 – $6 billion

The British Crown Jewels are a collection of ceremonial regalia that are symbolically associated with the British monarchy. They are used during coronations, state events, and other important ceremonies. 

Although the Crown Jewels are considered priceless because of their immense historic and cultural significance, experts estimate their value to be between $4 to $6 billion.

Antilia – $2 Billion

Antilia stands as one of the most expensive houses in the world. It is owned by Mukesh Ambani, the wealthiest individual in India and Asia, who has a net worth of $84.2 billion, according to Forbes’ Real-Time Billionaires List.

The 27-story building towers over others in the skyline and boasts three helipads, 9 elevators, a 50-seat home theater, and other luxuries. 

Villa Leopolda – $750 million 

Ranked as the second-most expensive residence globally, Villa Leopolda has a rich history. It was initially erected in 1902 for Belgian King Leopold. It was also used as a hospital during the World War.

In 2008, it was purchased by Russian billionaire Mikhail Prokhorov.

Leonardo Da Vinci’s Salvator Mundi Painting – $450 million

Also called “The Man with the Finger,” The Pointing Man is a bronze sculpture created by Alberto Giacometti. 

It has been exhibited in various places, such as the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Tate Gallery in London, and the Des Moines Art Center.

In 2015, billionaire Steven Cohen purchased the 70-inch-tall sculpture for $141.3 million, setting a record as the priciest sculpture ever sold at auction.

The Card Players Painting – $250 million

The Card Players Painting is the third most expensive Painting in the world.

It is part of a series that is considered fundamental to Cezanne’s art from the early to mid-1890s. The painting portrays two Aix-en-Provence peasants engaged in a card game, depicted with angular and moody elements.

Owned by the Al Thani family, Qatar’s royal family, The Card Players was acquired in a single purchase at an auction for $250 million in 2011, making it one of the most valuable pieces of artwork ever sold.

Mercedes Benz 300 SLR – $143 million

The 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR Gullwing Uhlenhaut is one of the most expensive things in the world. The car was manufactured back in 1955 and is a highly rare collectible.

It was crafted for endurance racing, specifically for events like the World Sportscar Championship and the renowned Mille Miglia race in Italy.

Fueled by a potent 3.0-liter inline-eight engine, the 300 SLR could generate approximately 310 horsepower, a remarkable feat for its era.

A private buyer acquired the Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR Gullwing Uhlenhaut at a Sotheby’s auction for $143 million. 

Jeff Bezos Beverly Hills House

Renowned Amazon founder and billionaire, Jeff Bezos, is the owner of one of the most expensive real estate properties in the world. 

The estate is estimated to be worth $165 million.

 Situated in Beverly Hills, California, this historic mansion was once owned by newspaper tycoon William Randolph Hearst. Notably, in 1946, it was the location where John F. Kennedy and Jacqueline Bouvier spent part of their honeymoon.
