The Lagos State Police Command has detained the owner of three dogs after the animals allegedly attacked and killed a security guard at Pinnock Estate in the Lekki area.
The tragic incident reportedly occurred on Monday night when the guard, who remains unidentified, was fatally mauled.
A video shared on X (formerly Twitter) by user @itzbasito captured the disturbing scene, showing the guard’s lifeless body on the ground with the dogs nearby.
The user claimed the owner had unknowingly allowed the dogs to roam freely, leading to the fatal attack.
Confirming the incident on Tuesday, Lagos State Police spokesperson SP Benjamin Hundeyin posted on his verified X handle, stating, “The dog owner has been arrested and is in our custody.”
