Super Eagles defender Bright Osayi-Samuel has provided an update about reports linking him with a move away from Turkish side Fenerbahce in the summer transfer window.
Osayi-Samuel is in the final months of his contract with Fenerbahce that is expected to run out in the summer.
According to reports, contract talks over a new hit a stumbling block earlier in the year, and he is expected to leave the club in the summer.
Osayi-Samuel has been linked with a return to England with the likes of Crystal Palace, Nottingham Forest, and Wolverhampton Wanderers expressing interest in signing him.
After playing the whole duration of Fernabache’s 3-1 win over Sivasspor on Sunday, Osayi-Samuel confirmed that he will meet with the club’s president to discuss his future at the of the season.
He said: “It’s actually hard to comment on this situation. Many people act like they know the subject! I play for Fenerbahçe, and I’m very happy about it.
“People say different things. It was said that a contract was signed and that I didn’t accept it, but there is no such situation.
“I have a very good dialogue with the president. My only thought right now is the championship. We will meet with our president after the season is over and see what happens.”
Osayi-Samuel started his club career at Blackpool before going on to represent QPR in the championship. He joined Fenerbahce in January 2021 after making 115 appearances for QPR.
The 27-year-old made his Super Eagles against Portugal in an international friendly match in November 2022.
He was part of the Super Eagles squad that won the silver medal at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.
Osayi-Samuel has scored six goals in 114 appearances for Fenerbahce in all competitions since joining the club.
