Nigerian rapper Odumodublvck has stirred conversations on social media after repeatedly calling out Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, over his new album. The outspoken hip-hop star, known as the ‘Industry Machine,’ took to X (formerly Twitter) to express his disappointment in Obi’s silence, despite his past unwavering support for the politician.
In a series of tweets, Odumodublvck reminded Obi of the sacrifices he made during the election, including rejecting a hefty sum from opposition parties just to stay loyal. He lamented that getting the former Anambra State governor to acknowledge his album is “not too much to ask.”
Expressing his frustration, the rapper declared that the only ‘Obi’ he recognizes now is former Super Eagles midfielder John Mikel Obi, who threw his weight behind the project. He also gave a nod to nightlife mogul Obi Cubana, calling him his “father.”
“The only Obi I know is John Mikel Obi. The Machine is coming,” he tweeted, before adding, “The only other Obi you can see me with is Obi Cubana, but that’s normal. He is my father.”
Despite the controversy, Odumodublvck remains steadfast in his craft, hinting that his album is about to shake the industry. Fans are eager to see how Peter Obi responds, or if he will remain silent.
