Newly elected Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) President, Abubakar Yakubu, has been arrested following his involvement in a fatal car accident in Surulere, Lagos.
Yakubu, who only days ago won a tightly contested election against Rita Daniels to emerge the new AGN president, is now at the center of a police investigation.
The accident, which occurred along a busy road in Surulere, resulted in the death of one person and immediately drew the attention of residents and emergency responders who rushed to the scene.
Police investigators are still piecing together evidence and have not released an official statement on what caused the tragic crash.
Yakubu is currently being detained at the Barracks Police Station in Surulere as authorities work to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
