Missouri Teacher Arrested for Allegedly Paying Students for Sex and Providing Alcohol

A former substitute teacher in Dixon, Missouri, Carissa Jane Smith, 30, has been arrested and charged with multiple felonies after allegedly paying students to engage in sexual acts with her.
According to the Pulaski County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, Smith faces 19 felony charges, including eight counts of statutory rape and three counts of sexual conduct with a student.
Authorities report that Smith offered students money, marijuana, and alcohol in exchange for sexual encounters, which allegedly took place at her home and other locations.
One victim, who was reportedly in middle school, told police that Smith propositioned him.
Smith is currently held in the Pulaski County Detention Center on a $250,000 bond.
