A road accident disrupted the morning commute at Law School bus stop inward Lagos today, caused by an impatient mini cab driver attempting to beat a traffic light.
The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) reported the incident at 7:11 a.m., detailing how the mini cab collided with a Benz Jeep, sparking a traffic snarl that stretched back to Akin Adesola.
In a statement posted on social media, LASTMA attributed the crash to reckless driving. “We recorded an accident at Law School bus stop Inward due to impatient driving,” the agency noted, pointing to the mini cab driver’s failed bid to outrun the traffic signal.
The impact left both vehicles obstructing the roadway, causing immediate delays for commuters.
Men of the Nigerian Police Force quickly arrived at the scene to manage the situation, working alongside LASTMA officials who took charge of traffic control.
The backlog, which extended to Akin Adesola, tested the patience of drivers caught in the gridlock. However, by 8:28 a.m., LASTMA provided an update: “The affected vehicles have been towed off from the location. Traffic movement is now very encouraging except traffic light alternation delay.”
The swift response ensured the road was cleared within roughly an hour, though residual delays lingered due to signal timing.
