Chicago police have arrested a man for a deadly shooting that occurred in January.
Martez Walls, 21, now faces several felony charges.
He is charged with first-degree murder for the death of a 23-year-old man.
He also faces a charge of attempted first-degree murder.
Additional charges include aggravated battery with a firearm and possessing a stolen vehicle.
The Fugitive Apprehension Unit arrested Walls on March 23.
Officers located him in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
According to police, the shooting happened on January 7.
The incident took place in the 0-100 block of East 100th Street.
This area is located in Chicago’s Roseland neighborhood.
As reported by Chicago Crime Chaser, the shooting occurred inside an apartment.
Two men were inside the residence around 4:33 p.m. that afternoon.
A known offender approached the victims and opened fire.
The 23-year-old man died at the scene from his injuries.
A 25-year-old man suffered serious injuries during the attack.
Emergency responders took the second victim to Christ Hospital in critical condition.
Police identified Walls as the gunman following a detailed investigation.
A warrant was issued for his arrest before he was found in Wisconsin.
Walls is scheduled for a detention hearing on March 24.
The hearing will take place at the courthouse on 2600 South California.
Authorities have not released a motive for the shooting at this time.
