Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu teamed up with Hajiya Nana Shettima, wife of Vice President Kashim Shettima, to distribute essential food items to vulnerable groups across Lagos State.
The initiative falls under the Renewed Hope Initiative Social Investment Programme’s Food Outreach Scheme, aimed at providing immediate relief to families facing hardships.
The event highlighted the government’s efforts to support those in need.
Sanwo-Olu emphasized that while the donations may not address all challenges, they represent a meaningful step toward alleviating daily pressures on many households.
“We remain committed to initiatives that provide relief, promote dignity, and strengthen the bond between government and the people we serve,” the governor stated.
Organizers distributed various food staples, including rice, beans, and other essentials, to beneficiaries from low-income communities.
Participants included representatives from local NGOs and community leaders, ensuring the aid reached the most deserving individuals.
This outreach aligns with broader national goals to combat food insecurity amid economic strains. Lagos State continues to prioritize social welfare programs, with similar drives planned in the coming months to expand support.
