Amid the glitz and glamour of Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez’s star-studded wedding in Venice, a wild rumor took off, one claiming that music legends Lady Gaga and Sir Elton John each demanded a whopping $6 million to perform at the celebration. But according to insiders who spoke to TMZ, there’s no truth to the story whatsoever.
In the days following the lavish affair, gossip columns were ablaze with claims that the power couple passed on booking Gaga and Elton due to their alleged jaw-dropping appearance fees. However, sources close to both music icons have shut down the speculation, calling it flat-out false.
In fact, according to TMZ, “the whole story is laughable … ’cause it just didn’t happen.” Not only were Gaga and Elton not asking for $6 million apiece, they were never even approached to perform at the wedding in the first place.
As for the actual entertainment on the big day? The newlyweds opted for a more romantic and classical vibe. British pop star Ellie Goulding serenaded guests with four to five songs, while Matteo Bocelli, the talented son of legendary tenor Andrea Bocelli also took the stage to deliver a memorable performance.
As previously reported, Jeff and Lauren were spotted making their grand exit from Venice on Sunday, cruising through the city’s iconic canals in a water taxi while waving to excited onlookers and paparazzi. The picturesque backdrop was the final note in what’s being described as a once-in-a-lifetime wedding celebration.
The couple’s A-list guest list was equally jaw-dropping, with appearances from the likes of Orlando Bloom, Tom Brady, Kim Kardashian, Kris Jenner, Khloe Kardashian, Kendall and Kylie Jenner, and Euphoria star Sydney Sweeney, among many others.
From the historic canals to the star-packed festivities, the Venice wedding was nothing short of spectacular and despite the wild headlines, it seems “the Italy bash was the furthest thing from a ‘Bad Romance.’”
