Veteran Nollywood actor and former spokesperson of the Obi-Datti Presidential Campaign Council, Kenneth Okonkwo, has broken his silence on his next political move following his resignation from the Labour Party. Amid growing speculation about his political future, Okonkwo has clarified that he is yet to officially align with any political party.
In a recent interview on Arise TV, the actor-turned-politician shed light on his current political stance, revealing that he is actively involved in coalition talks aimed at building a credible and formidable political alternative for the country.
“I’m a member of the coalition. We have not chosen officially a platform. We’re in talks, and I’m part of the talks,” Okonkwo stated, offering a glimpse into the behind-the-scenes efforts underway to reshape Nigeria’s political landscape.
The Living in Bondage star underscored the need for ideological alignment and trust in any political movement he decides to associate with, stressing that his next step will be guided by shared values and a clear vision for Nigeria’s future.
“You have to assure me and I have to know the people I am going to enter into such party with… In all honesty, we need a new thing. We may not go back to change the beginning, but we can start from where we are today and change the ending,” he added, striking a hopeful and forward-looking tone.
Okonkwo, who has become increasingly vocal about Nigeria’s political affairs, maintained that any future political alliance he joins will be announced transparently and Nigerians will trust in the choice he makes.
With a blend of his screen charisma and growing political influence, Kenneth Okonkwo continues to be a compelling figure to watch both in entertainment and in the unfolding political drama of the nation.
