Jonathan Joss, beloved for voicing John Redcorn in the animated series King of the Hill, tragically passed away at 59 on June 1, 2025, after being fatally shot by a neighbor, TMZ reports.
According to the San Antonio Police Department, Joss was involved in a heated argument at a residence on the city’s south side Sunday evening, leading to a violent confrontation.
The unidentified neighbor allegedly fired multiple shots at Joss before fleeing in a vehicle.
Police apprehended the suspect a block away, and he is now in custody for murder. Despite efforts by paramedics, Joss was pronounced dead at the scene.
Joss, a San Antonio native of Comanche and White Mountain Apache descent, brought life to John Redcorn from seasons 2 to 13 of King of the Hill and played Chief Ken Hotate in Parks and Recreation.
His recent hardships, including the loss of his childhood home and three dogs in a January 2025 fire, had garnered community support.
