Faison Love on Sean Combs’ Arrest: “Being Nasty Shouldn’t Be Federal Crime”

In a recent commentary, actor and comedian Faison Love shared his thoughts on the arrest of hip-hop mogul Sean Combs, who is facing federal charges related to sex trafficking.

The charges against Combs also include kidnapping, forced labor, transporting sex workers, coercion, and even arson.

Love expressed confusion about the severity of the allegations beyond Combs’ known issues with his ex-girlfriend, Cassie Ventura, who settled a lawsuit with him in November. “The Cassie thing I understand,” Love said, referring to accusations of abuse. “They should definitely lock this ni*a up for putting his hands on the young lady. But I don’t understand the other sht.”

Love humorously questioned how “being nasty” could result in federal charges. He also referenced federal agents seizing over 1,000 bottles of baby oil during raids on Combs’ properties, which were labeled as “freak off supplies” by officials. Laughing at the absurdity, Love joked, “Is there a limit on baby oil now? I didn’t know there were new rules for us.”

Drawing a historical parallel, Love likened Combs’ situation to that of Jack Johnson, the first Black world heavyweight boxing champion.

Johnson was charged with sex trafficking in the early 1900s for transporting a white woman across state lines for “indecent purposes.”

Love implied that just as Johnson was targeted to hinder his dominance in boxing, Combs could be facing similar scrutiny for reasons beyond the charges.
