Operatives of the Benin Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) apprehended seven suspected internet fraudsters on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, in Benin City, Edo State.
The arrests followed credible intelligence regarding the suspects’ alleged involvement in internet-related fraud. Items recovered during the operation included a Lexus car, several laptops, and mobile phones.
The EFCC confirmed that investigations are ongoing and stated that the suspects would be charged to court once the probe is concluded.
