Nigerian celebrity chef, Hilda Baci, has once again etched her name in history after Guinness World Records officially confirmed her as the new record holder for the largest serving of Nigerian-style jollof rice.
In an announcement shared on its official X account, Guinness World Records revealed:
“New record: Largest serving of Nigerian-style jollof rice – 8,780 kg (19,356 lb 9 oz) achieved by Hilda Baci and Gino in Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria.”
The remarkable feat was achieved during a grand culinary spectacle on Friday, September 12, 2025, at the prestigious Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos. The event, tagged the ‘Gino World Jollof Festival’, saw thousands of excited food lovers, culture enthusiasts, and celebrities gather to witness history being made.
Hilda, who first rose to global prominence in 2023 when she smashed the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon, has now reaffirmed her place as one of Nigeria’s most iconic chefs.
The Lagos event was nothing short of a star-studded celebration. Top figures in entertainment and public life, including actress Funke Akindele, media personality Enioluwa Adeoluwa, lifestyle influencer Tomike Adeoye, Pastor Idowu, and Bamidele Abiodun, wife of the Ogun State Governor, all turned up to cheer Hilda on as she once again put Nigerian food culture on the world stage.
