Best WAEC Results 2023

The West African Examinations Council announced the results of this year’s West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) on the 7th of August 2023. In light of this announcement, we’ve decided to do a post on the Best waec result 2023.

Patrick Areghan, the Head of WAEC’s Nigeria Office stated that out of the 1,613,733 candidates who sat for the examination, only 1,476,565 (91.5%) have their results fully processed and released. He added that there are 137,168 (8.5%) candidates whose final scores were still being processed due to challenges with their exam papers.

5 Best Waec result 2023

  • 5. Falade Ayomide Esther

Five students across Nigeria have been recognized globally by the general public and popular media outlets for having the best waec result in 2023. 

These scholars either got straight As in their papers or got astounding grades in particulary tough subjects.

Let’s meet them:

1. Kamsiyochukwu Nkechinyere Umeh

Leading the list of students with the best waec 2023 is Kamsiyochukwu Nkechinyere Umeh. Umeh is also the highest-scoring candidate in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination. She displayed academic prowess once again by clearing her WASSCE papers with 8 A1 and B2.

Kamsiyochukwu attended Deeper Life High School, Mowe, Ogun State. She scored A1 in English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, Further Mathematics, Economics, Civic Education, Computer Studies, Dyeing and Bleaching, and B2 in Physics.

She gained fame last month for being the highest scorer in the just concluded 2023 UTME, with a cumulative score of 360. 99 in Chemistry, 98 in Mathematics, 97 in Physics, and 66 in English.

Umeh has gotten several awards; including a scholarship from the Anambra State government. 

She received N2.5 million from the Chief Executive Officer of Erisco Foods Limited, Chief Eric Umeofia.

2. Isa Salmanu

Isa Salmanu is the second student in Nigeria to have the best waec result in 2023. He registered for nine subjects in the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) and scored straight A1s for all of them.

Salmanu is a student of Premiere Academy, Lugbe, Abuja, he was also the school’s best student for the class of 2023. Isa scored 347 in his Unified Tertiary Matriculations Examination. 

He was posted by Caleb Charles Sogbey, who took to Facebook to praise the brilliant boy. The subjects Isa registered for and got A1 in include – Economics, Civic Education, English Language, Further Mathematics, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Studies, and Radio and Television Electronic Works.

3. Ike Chinonso Rita

Ike Chinonso Rita emerged with flying colours in her 2023 WAEC after clearing her results to score A1 in 8 subjects and B in one of them. Subjects she got distinction in are Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Further Mathematics.

Rita is said to have always been a brilliant child, achieving the exceptional feat of starting secondary school at the age of 9 after she got double promotions at the primary school level. 

Chinonso is also a higher scorer in the 2023 JAMB, pulling a whopping 334. She has already received admission into Nile University, Abuja, to study Architecture. 

4. Uche Peace Uchechi

Uche Peace Uchechi has been hailed for securing multiple distinctions in her 2023 WAEC result. Her result was shared online by her teacher, Chimaijem Success. According to the post, Peace scored A1 in mathematics, economics, and marketing.

Mr. Success had posted on Facebook asking parents to consider his school for their children’s academic success. Uchechi’s results were among the ones shared, she had 3 A1s, 3 Bs, and Cs, respectively.

Facebook users who hailed both the teacher and his student, were stunned by the fact that Uchechi got A1 in mathematics, although she had the same in marketing and economics.

5. Falade Ayomide Esther

Falade Ayomide Esther made her parents proud when she scored 8 A1s and 1 B2 in her 2023 WAEC result. She has one of the best waec result in 2023, which other students her age can only hope to emulate.

Esther who scored 309 in her UTME said she intends to study Economics at the University. She impressed her guardians by scoring A1 in crucial subjects like English and Mathematics. Her only B2 was in economics. 

Her parents say they are not surprised by their daughter’s feat, as she had been taking the first position since she was in JSS 1. Her university of choice is Covenant University and she applied for the David Oyedepo Foundation Scholarship too. Although, she is yet to receive a response from the Foundation.
