Front End Developer

Front end developers design and develop the client side of a website- everything you can see on the website. They usually have background knowledge in programming languages such as HTML, CSS, and Javascript.

Front end developers also use Javascript frameworks and libraries such as React, Angular JS, and VueJS to create more sophisticated and user-friendly web applications. 

Your role as a front end developer is to ensure that a website or app is visually appealing and highly interactive. A lot of front-end roles are remote but this depends on the employment agreement you have with your employer. 

You typically need a bachelor’s degree in computer science to qualify for this role. However, you can get hired if you present a strong portfolio to prove that you have the required skills.

Salary range: 215,000 naira

Content Creator

Content creation is a very lucrative job in Lagos, it involves creating entertaining, informative, or educative materials in the form of videos, social media posts, blogs, articles etc for a target audience.

Lagos being the entertainment hub of Nigeria has the biggest market for content creators across different niches. The creator industry has changed the game for social media marketing in Nigeria, companies now give out contracts to content creators to help them advertise or sell their products and services to their viewers.

 Independent content creators who have a large social media following may charge up to 500,000 naira for a single post.

To begin your content career, firstly, you must choose a niche you would like expand on, then host your content on a social media platform such as YouTube, tiktok, podcasts, Instagram, blogs, etc, stay consistent and try to always put out quality content and in no time, you too will become a successful content creator.

Salary range: 70,000 – 600,000 naira

Data Scientist 

A data scientist helps organisations manage vast amounts of data through the use of proficient mathematical and coding skills. Their job is to analyse and interpret raw data, then use the information to provide solutions to complex problems.

It would help if you were skilled in programming languages like Python, R, SQL, and Scalam, statistics and probability, data visualisation, data wrangling and so much more.

A computer science degree is required but not compulsory as these skills can be learned online. To be a successful data scientist, you need to have good decision making and problem solving skills.

Salary range: 248,000 – 811,000 naira

Orthodontist

Orthodontist is a type of dentist that specialises in treating jaw or teeth irregularities or dysfunction.

They help people fix their bite, align their teeth or reset their jaw. They do this with the use of braces, headgear, or temporary screws placed in your jaw. Orthodontist practices are strictly non-surgical. It is one of the highest-paying medical courses in Nigeria. 

You need a dental degree(bachelor’s or master’s) and specialty training to become an Orthodontist. It is a very profitable course.

Salary range: 400,000 – 1,200,000 naira

Realtor

The real estate scene in Lagos is one of the hottest in Nigeria.

Realtors must have adequate background knowledge of the real estate scene before pursuing a career in real estate.

Your responsibilities as a realtor include checking out properties that are available for rent or sale, update property listings, advertise properties to catch the eye of prospective buyers, oversee property showings, drafting and closing deals on housing contracts.

To be a successful realtor in Lagos, you have to learn how to make important connections and develop strategies that will help you close as many deals as possible.

Salary range: 85,000 – 500,000 naira

Esthetician 

The Beauty industry in Nigeria is booming, people pay top money to get beauty treatments these days.

Your job as an Esthetician is to perform cosmetics treatments such as facials, waxing, chemical peels, massages, conduct skincare or make up consultations, track customers progress and so much more. You do not need a medical degree to work as an Esthetician. With an esthetician license, you can work at a spa, beauty salon, hotel, resort, etc.

Salary range: 64,000 – 193,000 naira

Product Manager

Product managers develop profitable product strategies for organizations. They handle all aspects of the product road map from market research to the launching of products.

Your responsibility as a product manager is to collect data, identify consumer needs, create strategies, and ensure that the products have the necessary features to be successful in the market.

Product management roles are in high demand, companies need product managers to build successful products. Most product management roles are very flexible. They can either be remote, hybrid, or full-time.

Salary range: 300,000 to 600,000 naira
