Adedeji started his academic journey at Ansar-Ud-Deen Primary School in Lagos from 1965 to 1970. After completing primary school, he attended Seventh Day Adventist Grammar School in Osun State for his secondary education, obtaining his West African School Certificate in 1975.

In 1976, while working at the Federal Ministry of Education, Adedeji gained admission to Western Kentucky University in the United States. He graduated in 1979 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance. He then obtained an MBA from the same university in 1981.

He proceeded to earn a PhD in Business Administration from Columbia Pacific University in San Rafael, California, in 1981.

Adedeji’s first Son, Adewale Adeleke was born in 1988. He and his younger brother David Adeleke co-founded the successful HKN record label, where he played an executive role in Davido’s breakthrough album “Omo Baba Olowo.” Adewale now serves as Executive Director at Pacific Holdings Limited, part of his father’s business conglomerate.
