A Dolton man is behind bars for a shooting that happened on Christmas night.
Authorities charged 33-year-old Ronald Speed with one felony count of first-degree attempted murder.
The Chicago Police Department worked with U.S. Marshals to track him down.

Members of the Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force assisted in the arrest.
The team located Speed in Dolton on Monday morning around 11:00 a.m.
Officers took him into custody in the 14800 block of South Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive.
The charges stem from a violent encounter that took place last December.
On December 25, 2025, a shooter targeted a 37-year-old man in Englewood.
The incident occurred at approximately 11:02 p.m. in the 300 block of West Marquette Road.
Police say a 37-year-old man was standing outside on Chicago’s South Side when a confrontation began.
The victim became involved in a heated argument with an unknown man on the sidewalk.
During the dispute, the offender pulled out a gun and opened fire.
The gunman shot the 37-year-old victim multiple times in the body.
Emergency responders rushed the man to the University of Chicago Medical Center.
Doctors listed the victim in critical condition following the Christmas night attack.
Detectives identified Speed as the shooter following an investigation into the 7th District incident.
Speed now faces a judge for a detention hearing today.
The hearing is scheduled at the courthouse located at 2600 South California Avenue.
Police have not released further details regarding what sparked the initial argument.
The investigation into the Englewood shooting remains ongoing.
