A 19-year-old man is dead after a drive-by shooting on Chicago’s South Side.
The shooting occurred Saturday evening in the Auburn Gresham neighborhood.
Police responded to the 7700 block of South Racine Avenue around 5:08 p.m.
The victim was inside a residence when the violence began.
An unknown person in a vehicle outside pulled out a gun and opened fire.
Bullets traveled from the street and into the home.
The young man was struck in the head by the gunfire.
Emergency responders pronounced him dead at the scene.
The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the victim.
He was 19-year-old Michael Rounds Jr.
Area detectives are currently leading the homicide investigation.
No one is in custody at this time.
Police have not released a description of the shooter’s vehicle.
