A Sunday morning crash in the Park Manor neighborhood left a teenager dead and two others fighting for their lives.
An 18-year-old man was driving a white Jeep Cherokee westbound on East Marquette Road around 5:22 a.m.
Chicago police say the driver lost control of the vehicle in the 100 block of the street.
The Jeep slammed into multiple homes, causing significant damage on the 6600 block of South Wabash Avenue.
Emergency responders rushed the 18-year-old driver to the University of Chicago Hospital.
Doctors later pronounced the teenager dead from his injuries.
Two other passengers were inside the Jeep during the collision.
One of the passengers is a 14-year-old boy, according to investigators.
Paramedics transported both passengers to Comer Children’s Hospital in critical condition.
During the investigation at the scene, Chicago police recovered two firearms from inside the Jeep.
No residents inside the homes reported any injuries following the impact.
Chicago police are currently investigating the cause of the crash.
