Chicago police have successfully apprehended a suspect linked to a violent shooting that occurred in late 2025.
Johnathon Yarbrough, age 23, was arrested on January 15, 2026, by specialized units within the Chicago Police Department.
The arrest took place in the 100 block of East Wacker Drive, following an extensive investigation by the Area Two Detective Division.
Yarbrough has been identified as the individual responsible for a shooting on September 7, 2025.
The incident occurred in the 12400 block of South Stewart Avenue within Chicago’s 5th District.

The Homicide Investigation Support Team assisted in the identification and capture of the offender.
Yarbrough now faces one felony count of aggravated battery involving the discharge of a firearm.
