A U.S. citizen was arrested last night during a volatile riot in Minneapolis after assaulting law enforcement officers while armed.
The individual arrived at the protest carrying a bag that contained a handgun and a full box of ammunition.
According to Homeland Security, the man allegedly threatened violence against officers while repeatedly pointing at his bag.
The situation escalated as the crowd became increasingly aggressive, leading police to deploy crowd control measures.
During the chaos, the suspect kicked a metal smoke canister toward officers.

He then reportedly pushed an officer before being taken into custody for assault.
While being processed, the man admitted he was carrying a firearm, which was recovered by police along with the ammunition.

Authorities confirmed the individual was not carrying a concealed carry permit at the time of the arrest.
Homeland Security emphasized that such violent actions are not protected under the First Amendment’s right to peaceful assembly.
The suspect remains in custody as the investigation into the night’s unrest continues.
