A 17-year-old boy is recovering in the hospital after a driver struck him and fled the scene Monday afternoon on Chicago’s South Side.
The victim has been identified by his family as Christian Ojeda.
The hit-and-run occurred around 5:00 p.m. near the intersection of 54th Street and Western Avenue.
Christian was rushed to a local hospital where he is currently listed in stable condition.
His family reports that the teenager suffered a broken leg and is currently awaiting the results of CT scans.
The driver involved in the collision did not stop to provide help and fled the area immediately after the impact.
Chicago police are looking for any leads regarding the vehicle involved in the crash.
Family members are asking the community to come forward if they witnessed the incident or have dashcam footage.
Christian’s family remains by his side as he begins his recovery from the traumatic event.
