RIVERDALE, IL — A pedestrian is dead following a hit-and-run crash in Riverdale on Wednesday night.
The incident occurred near the intersection of 146th Street and Indiana Avenue.
According to Riverdale police, a vehicle struck the pedestrian and then fled the scene.
Emergency responders arrived shortly after, but the pedestrian died from their injuries.
Police confirmed on Thursday that they have a suspect in custody.
Officers located the individual following an initial investigation into the crash.
The suspect is currently being questioned by detectives.
Authorities have not yet released the name of the victim or the identity of the driver.
