A popular boxing gym in the Pilsen neighborhood was targeted by a burglar in the early hours of Christmas morning.
Chicago Police reported that the break-in occurred around 2:25 a.m. Wednesday at the Rick Ramos Boxing Gym, located in the 900-block of West Cermak Road.
According to investigators, the suspect smashed a glass window to gain entry to the building.
Once inside, the individual stole several items before fleeing the scene on foot.
As of Thursday, no one is in custody.
Detectives from CPD Area Three are currently investigating the incident and reviewing any available surveillance footage from the area.
Owner Rick Ramos is a well-known figure in the Chicago boxing community, having trained several professional fighters at the Southwest Side facility.
