Chicago Police are searching for a gunman who opened fire from a stolen vehicle in the Belmont Cragin neighborhood early Friday morning.
The incident occurred on December 19, 2025, at approximately 2:10 a.m. in the 5400 block of West Diversey Avenue.
According to investigators, a suspect riding in the front passenger seat of a stolen car fired a .45 caliber handgun at another vehicle occupied by passengers.
Immediately after the shooting, the stolen vehicle fled the scene, heading northbound through the 2800 block of North Long Avenue.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported in the initial police brief, but the suspect remains at large.
