Three people were injured after gunfire erupted inside a moving vehicle in the West Chatham neighborhood early Saturday morning.
The shooting occurred just before 12:30 a.m. in the 8100 block of South Stewart Avenue, according to Chicago Police.
Investigators say two women, ages 21 and 26, and a 25-year-old man were traveling in the car when an unidentified shooter opened fire.
The three victims suffered the following injuries:

21-year-old woman: Struck by a bullet fragment in the back of the head.

25-year-old man: Shot in the arm and hand.

26-year-old woman: Suffered graze wounds to her stomach and arm.
The victims drove themselves to the University of Chicago Medical Center.
Hospital staff currently list all three individuals in fair condition.
The shooter fled the scene immediately after the incident.
As of Saturday morning, police have no suspects in custody.
Area Two detectives are currently investigating the motive and searching for the shooter.
