Thieves stole a lottery machine and thousands of dollars in tickets during a quick smash-and-grab burglary at a Rogers Park convenience store.
The incident occurred at the Express Food Mart on Devon Avenue. The store owner reported that two suspects used a large stone to break the front glass door of the business.
Once inside, the burglars moved quickly, grabbing an entire lottery machine and a stash of Illinois Lottery tickets.
The owner estimates the stolen tickets are worth nearly $7,000. The entire robbery took only about 30 seconds.
The crime has been reported to the Illinois Lottery, and the Chicago Police Department is investigating. No arrests have been made, and police say no one is currently in custody.
