A tragic shooting unfolded on Thursday, January 16, 2025, in the North Lawndale neighborhood on Chicago’s West Side. Tanisha Weeks, 42, was fatally shot in the 4100 block of West Grenshaw Avenue in what police believe may be a domestic incident.

According to authorities, Weeks was shot in front of her child, who tragically witnessed the entire ordeal. The alleged shooter, a 35-year-old man, turned the gun on himself immediately after the incident, resulting in his death.
