There are rumors online that rappers Tekashi 6ix9ine and Diddy will be held in the same jail, but no official confirmation has been made.

Tekashi 6ix9ine, whose real name is Daniel Hernandez, was detained Tuesday after a series of alleged supervised release violations, which included testing positive for methamphetamine, an unauthorized trip to Las Vegas, and arriving an hour late to court.

Due to these violations, 6ix9ine was taken into custody on an arrest warrant signed earlier that morning by Judge Paul Engelmayer when the rapper initially failed to appear in court on time. Prosecutors described his repeated violations as a “pattern of noncompliance,” leading to his detainment for at least two weeks.

Meanwhile, social media continues to buzz about the possibility of the two rap icons sharing a jail cell, though officials have yet to confirm any such arrangement.

A post on X (formerly Twitter) said “6ix9ine is now going to be held in the same jail as Diddy & Sam Bankman-Fried until November 12th”, but this hasn’t been confirmed.

Meanwhile, Diddy, 54, was taken to the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn—a facility often referred to as “hell on earth” and an “ongoing tragedy”—after pleading not guilty in a case alleging he engaged in physical and sexual abuse against women for over a decade.

The Metropolitan Detention Center, New York City’s only federal jail, has faced persistent issues since its opening in the 1990s. Conditions have become so dire in recent years that some judges have opted not to send individuals there. The facility has also housed several high-profile inmates, such as R. Kelly, Ghislaine Maxwell, and cryptocurrency fraudster Sam Bankman-Fried.
