A heated domestic dispute broadcast on Facebook Live turned deadly on June 14, 2025, resulting in the tragic deaths of 27-year-old Zaria Khadejah Carr, known as Duchess Dior, and her husband, 36-year-old Shamarcus Jameal Carr, also known as The Frenchman.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) is probing the incident, which has left the Twin City community reeling.
According to authorities, law enforcement responded to a domestic disturbance call around 9:30 p.m. on the 100 block of 5th Avenue in Twin City.
Officers from the Twin City Police Department, Emanuel County Sheriff’s Office, and Emanuel County EMS arrived to find Zaria unconscious. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Shamarcus and Zaria’s 2021 Dodge Challenger was missing, prompting an alert for the vehicle.
Just after 11:00 p.m., Wayne County Sheriff’s Office deputies located the car and attempted a stop. Shamarcus, found inside, died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound after being transported to a hospital.
Moments before the tragedy, the couple aired their grievances on Facebook Live, accusing each other of infidelity.
The argument escalated with profanities and threats, with Dutchess Dior alleging Shamarcus cheated after his release from prison, while he claimed she was unfaithful during his incarceration.
The livestream ended abruptly after Zaria grabbed Shamarcus’s phone, with her final words to viewers: “I ain’t willing to die behind this.”
The GBI is investigating Zaria’s death, while the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office handles Shamarcus’s. An autopsy by the GBI Medical Examiner’s Office is pending.
